When words fail, the camera does not lie. I have not been entirely in the right of frame of mind to write with enthusiasm or impunity as much as I would like lately. I am tired, and I have had a busy brain, and everything has been a little stormy (I write, as outside the rain lashes against the window).
It seems to be a common theme for January – perhaps something about rising and leaving the house in darkness, and returning in darkness, makes me turn inwards a little. Last January I also found myself being more introspective; I remember marathon reading The Power Of Now and Auspicious Good Fortune on the plane to Slovakia and trying to smooth things out a little and get back on track. This year I feel the same, a little like I’ve stumbled off the path and got a little adrift in the wildnerness. It will be fine, I’m sure.
Instead of trying to write and explain things, I thought I’d just share some photographs I’ve taken on my new camera. Actually this collection is a better way to capture my life at the moment anyway – there is comfort in tea, and books, and bed, and doggy cuddles…
