Some months ago I slung my running shoes on to walk the dog one morning and marvelled, not for the first time, at how comfortable they were. Ergonomic, cushioned and well-fitting, I could wear them all day. So my feet let out a little leap of joy when I started seeing trainers appearing in street style and outfit photos, and even making appearances at various fashion weeks. Fashion and function are rare bedfellows and so it’s quite a treat to see footwear that can not only pull an outfit together but doesn’t mean an obligatory purchase of Compeed patches or packing an extra pair of shoes to actually walk in. Sports Luxe is definitely one of my favourite trends at the moment, and at least it means my growing collection of sportswear might actually have a chance of making its way out of my wardrobe…
Here are some ladies rocking the running shoes trend that I’ve bookmarked recently…

I’ve already bought my first pair of New Balance in order to attempt to rock this trend, but sadly mine are a little too small and need some stretching before I can embrace that confluence of comfort and cool. I didn’t use these photos after I took them because I thought they were a bit dark but I thought I’d share them here as this was my first attempt at a ‘trainers’ outfit post.

Despite satisfying my urge by buying one pair I’ve still been furiously bookmarking more jazzy daps though, here are a few more of my favourites that I think would look great outside of the gym…
