A seaside weekend with friends, and a video!

The weekend before last we had some lovely visitors in the form of Katy and Matt (aka LB) from Little Winter.  I’d met up with Katy a few times before we planned a weekend of fun together, but even though we’d only spent odd days here and there together and Matt and Tom had never met, I just knew it was going to be a weekend of fun and laughter and catchups (and food – our mutual love!)

I decided to resurrect my little handheld video camera from the depths of a long forgotten handbag and take it out and about for the weekend to capture lots of fun moments.  Tom then very kindly edited the video for me – and here is the result!

I really hope you enjoy the video, but if you’re more of a photos fan, here is some more of what we got up to.

We started the weekend on Saturday morning with brunch at our favourite brunch spot, Boscanova. Pancakes, maple syrup, bacon, sausage and egg for me!

We then went to Poole Folk Festival on Poole Quay.  The forecast was for rain but it was all blue skies and sunshine! We drank ciders, watched Morris Dancers and folk singers and generally watched the world go by, as well as eyeing up some rather expensive boats at the Quay.

Poole

After our day in Poole we went out for dinner in Christchurch in the evening.  We had to coerce LB into taking lots of photos for us – as if they thought we would simply walk into the restaurant without a chance for a bit of posing outside?

We ate dinner at The Boathouse at Christchurch Harbour, which was amazing – the food was really, really good and we left suitably stuffed! A particular highlight was the camembert, served with warm homemade bread and chutney.

Dinner

After dinner we went for a stroll around Christchurch Harbour, through the gardens and through the Priory – as Katy reflected in her post, a slightly unconventional Saturday night activity, to stroll through a churchyard (in heels), but it really is so pretty.

The next day, we had one plan, and one plan only – barbecue on the beach! Luckily the weather was kind to us again…

To see all the barbecuing action, you’ll just have to watch the video!

We had the most amazing weekend, and Katy and Matt were the best company.  I thank my lucky stars every day for all of the amazing things that blogging has brought to me, but the awesome friendships I’ve met are definitely the best thing about it for me.

PS – Bodhi had an amazing weekend too – I think he is pining for Katy and Matt, though he has the ridiculously noisy squeaking toy they bought him to keep him company!

Let me know what you think of the video.  I’m trying to be a bit more creative with my blogging and really focus on the content from now on so I’m hoping to create more videos and post more interesting, original things for you to come and read.  I feel at the moment that the content isn’t as perfect as I’d like it to be but I’m working hard at it and I have a notebook full of scribbled ideas, so I hope you’ll keep coming back in the future! Big love to all my lovely readers.
