Three favourite skincare products (and a wait and see)

Over the last few weeks I’ve introduced some new products into my skincare regime, and I’d pop up a review of the ones I’ve been particularly loving.  I’ve gone a bit ‘oil’ crazy at the moment, using facial oils before bed and hair oils for pre-shampooing and conditioning treatments, and the first product in my current favourites is one that I’ve been using in the morning and before bedtime to keep my skin feeling hydrated and nourished.

Cowshed Raspberry Oil
Cowshed Raspberry Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Oil // £32.95*

I didn’t know until I spotted this on Click Fragrance, that Cowshed did more than just baby and bath products, so I was intrigued when I heard about their various facial oils and skincare range.  Their Raspberry Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Oil promises to condition and protect your skin from environmental damage, as well as being enriched with essential oils of lemon, rosemary and basil.  I can’t help but give this one a rave review and a big thumbs up – it’s so soothing and makes my skin feel so soft and hydrated in the morning. I’ve also been using it before putting on make-up in the morning or even mixing a little bit with my foundation to give a slightly dewy, fresh look.

Herbfarmacy Mallow Balm
Mallow Beauty Balm // £14.50

This popped up on a wishlist of mine months and months ago and I’ve been meaning to pick it up ever since. When I spotted a Herbfarmacy shop in Hay on Wye a couple of weeks ago I practically hopped off the bus and legged it to the shop to grab it! This balm smells utterly heavenly and literally just melts into the skin. Made with Marshmallow and Mullein (which has a natural anti-wrinkle effect), it deeply moisturises and sooths the skin.  I fell in love with this from first try and it really does make my skin feel so soft and nourished.  You can use it all over, from around your eyes, to lips and other dry areas like elbows and knees, but I’ve been putting it on my face in the mornings and before bed (alternating with the Cowshed Facial Oil).  All of the Herbfarmacy products are grown organically Herefordshire using Soil Association Certified organic herbs, so you know you’re getting quality, homegrown ingredients that will be kind to your skin.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm // £20.42*

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is a bit of a cult product and it feels funny reviewing it when it’s already raved about by so many.  Beauty Flash Balm is hailed as an ‘extreme moisturiser’ that brightens and tightens.  You dollop it onto the skin (you don’t rub it in) and then put your make-up on immediately afterwards.  One of the things I love most about this product is the scent – it smells so fresh and clean and makes my skin feel really pepped up as soon as I put it on. Applying foundation afterwards definitely makes my skin look smoother and brighter, and evening out your complexion.  I absolutely love it and will definitely be re-buying it, I think it’s really good value for the £20 mark as I find it better than other expensive primers I’ve tried.

Blanx
Blanx White Shock Mouthwash (£5.49*) and White Shock Gel Pen (£9.99*)

Not a skincare product but another product I’m making part of my daily routine is the Blanx White Shock Mouthwash and Gel Pen.  I’ll be reviewing these with a proper before and after at a later date as I’ve not noticed much of a difference after only using it for a week, but I’m hoping it’s a grower! Let me know how you got on if you’ve already tried these!

What do you think of my current skincare favourites? Have you tried any of them?
