Kitchen transformation

As I mentioned in my last post, this week our kitchen was being tranformed from green cabinets and an awkward layout, to something a bit more modern and smart (with more space!).  For those of you that missed that post, here is what our kitchen looked like on Monday morning.

The kitchen fitter was unable to come on Monday and started on Tuesday instead.  When we got home on Tuesday, rather frighteningly, it looked like this.

Then ensued two days of microwave meals and washing up in the bath (not whilst we were in it, I hasten to add), whilst we waited for our kitchen to be transformed into something wonderful.  When we got home today, rather excitingly it now looks like this.

We now have a smart fitted oven and countertop hob, and lots more cupboard space! Obviously the next step now is to paint those walls (and take the plastic wrap off all the cupboards!).

You may have spotted that I’ve already put some kitchen accessories in there – they were kindly gifted to me by Asda/George Home to jazz up our new kitchen! If you’re going to get a swanky new kitchen, you need some swanky new acccessories, right?

Asda kettle and canisters

milk jug: £3* // kettle: £39* // canister: £4* // canister: £4*

Asda bowls toaster

worktop saver: £4* // bowls: £14* // toaster: {sold out}

George Home have got some lovely bits in at the moment – I would recommend that you shop instore however as some of the items I ordered ended up being out of stock or arrived damaged.  They’ve just launched a new design range in conjunction with The Prince’s Trust and the products in these ranges are amazing, I want them all!

What do you think of our new kitchen? I think it’s going to look amazing once we’ve painted the walls (we also need a new floor in there!) I’m so excited to have a room in our house that’s ‘finished’!  I’m off to sneak another peek at it (and get unpacking all the boxes of kitchenware back in there!)
