Christmas party

Last Friday I went out for my work Christmas party at my favourite local restaurant, Cheese and Alfie’s. We had an amazing three-course meal and of course the standard Christmas party activities like crackers and Secret Santa. Work has been quite high-pressure with deadlines and increased workload over the last couple of months so it was a good opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and relax, not to mention have a few glasses of Prosecco!

I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to bring out my lovely Missguided playsuit for some time, and I thought the Christmas party was the perfect chance for a bit of silk and lace! I was a bit worried that the shorts are quite short, so I wore it with nude tights.  I also got ready a bit later than planned so I didn’t have enough time to worry about it as I was rushing out of the door and into the taxi when I normally would have been yanking other things out of my wardrobe!

I am currently drafting this on Wednesday night looking out on a very rain-lashed street, with quivering lampposts and some ever growing puddles.  Our roof felt on our shed is flying about in the wind and our little archway in the garden has blown over.  Extreme weather, Dorset style!  I was kindly sent some sunglasses by Vision Direct recently and I’m glad I took a snap of myself wearing them last week as I don’t think I’ll be bringing them out again any time soon! I nearly got blown over on the way to my car earlier, occupational hazard of working on the seafront! I tend to wear sunglasses about 70% of the time when I’m driving as I find even slight sunlight really distracting but sadly they have stayed in my glove compartment for the last week or so, it’s been so dark over the last few days.

And here is that selfie in my snazzy shades – which I’ve just seen on the website are actually men’s frames – oops!

Bad weather is the perfect excuse for staying in and getting cosy however and I’m enjoying my first free night in in ages tonight; I’ve just whipped up a batch of Maltesers Fudge to give as presents and now I’m enjoying some blog-catching-up time and a mug of tea.  Hope you’re all having lovely weeks so far.
