Zebra crossing, and being in a funk

I feel a bit like a zebra crossing in this dress – not necessarily a bad thing as I love a bit of monochrome.  It’s one of the items in the new Very Definitions range; you might have seen it in their new TV advert – if only I looked half as cool as that lady pouring milk into her cereal!

By the way, the pink hair is because I’ve been experimenting with the new Label M Power Pink Spray – I like adding just a hint of colour to a monochrome outfit though it’s not usual I do it with my hair! I’ll be reviewing the spray in a separate blog post, but sneak peek – it’s awesome!

coat in 1 and 2 – frontrowshop $80* // dress: very £45*

boots: office [old] // floral crown in 3 was a present – not sure where from! //

can’t remember where the bag was from either!

I’m going to be completely honest and say that I took an awful lot of photos of this outfit just to find a few usable ones – this dress is absolutely lovely but I couldn’t quite get it to look right on me and the light this afternoon has been so inconsistent that I had a mix of overexposed and underexposed photos that couldn’t be saved.  I’m going through a phase at the moment where I’m not entirely happy with most of the clothes in my wardrobe, or the fact that I’ve put on 5lbs on the champagne and cake diet I seem to have succumbed to over the last few weeks.  I went shopping in Bournemouth yesterday and couldn’t find any new clothes I particularly liked, and spent the whole time walking around thinking how much cooler everyone looked than me.  I feel like a bit of an imposter to the fashion blogging world sometimes (not that that’s entirely what my blog is) as I go through stages where I’m just not happy with anything I wear.  I definitely need to snap out of this phase, though losing the weight is going to be much harder when I’m still in a lot of pain from my sprained ankle; I’m really missing running! Does anyone have any tips for getting out of a ‘I hate all my clothes and what I look like’ funk? I’m thinking a haircut and some better eating should pull me out of it though I say that whilst currently dreaming about the cupcakes we have in the kitchen….
