Zebra crossing, and being in a funk

I feel a bit like a zebra crossing in this dress - not necessarily a bad thing as I love a bit of monochrome.  It's one of the items in the new Very Definitions range; you might have seen it in their new TV advert - if only I looked half as cool as that lady pouring milk into her cereal!

By the way, the pink hair is because I've been experimenting with the new Label M Power Pink Spray - I like adding just a hint of colour to a monochrome outfit though it's not usual I do it with my hair! I'll be reviewing the spray in a separate blog post, but sneak peek - it's awesome!

coat in 1 and 2 - frontrowshop $80* // dress: very £45*
boots: office [old] // floral crown in 3 was a present - not sure where from! //
can't remember where the bag was from either!

I'm going to be completely honest and say that I took an awful lot of photos of this outfit just to find a few usable ones - this dress is absolutely lovely but I couldn't quite get it to look right on me and the light this afternoon has been so inconsistent that I had a mix of overexposed and underexposed photos that couldn't be saved.  I'm going through a phase at the moment where I'm not entirely happy with most of the clothes in my wardrobe, or the fact that I've put on 5lbs on the champagne and cake diet I seem to have succumbed to over the last few weeks.  I went shopping in Bournemouth yesterday and couldn't find any new clothes I particularly liked, and spent the whole time walking around thinking how much cooler everyone looked than me.  I feel like a bit of an imposter to the fashion blogging world sometimes (not that that's entirely what my blog is) as I go through stages where I'm just not happy with anything I wear.  I definitely need to snap out of this phase, though losing the weight is going to be much harder when I'm still in a lot of pain from my sprained ankle; I'm really missing running! Does anyone have any tips for getting out of a 'I hate all my clothes and what I look like' funk? I'm thinking a haircut and some better eating should pull me out of it though I say that whilst currently dreaming about the cupcakes we have in the kitchen....

  2. Ooh I think the dress looks great on you! And the pink looks lovely too.
Treat yourself to a little pamper evening, do your nails and watch your favourite movie, and I bet you feel better the next day. Hopefully your ankle will be back to normal soon :)

  3. I am in the same clothes funk at the moment. Although mine has something to do with the fact that is november and its still 30 degrees in Cyprus. And all the shops have winter stuff. And the thought of jumpers and boots is insane. Plus i feel like my style is in a no mans land at the moment which sucks.

  5. I'm also having a "I hate all my clothes" phase! I think it's the transition into the new season - I want the perfect winter clothes and I just don't have them! Also, love the pink hair, I wish I was blonde so I could experiment like that!

  6. I am aaaalways having a clothes hating moment. To feel better I shower, make myself smell nice, make my hair nice, drink lots of water, eat something healthy (green smoothie!) and get some exercise in. The next morning I usually feel better! Pink hair will help a lot :) :)

  7. ermahgerdiloveyourhair!!

I have those days every single day, but mainly because the storage for my clothes is underwater and so when I pull out whatever I want to wear for the day it smells like boat.

Besides you always look ace in your outfit posts, wish I had the guts to do them!

  8. Don't feel down little one, I always like your outfit posts because they're real. You look amazing though, even if you're not feeling it. Maybe swimming might be good if you're sick of not being active? I know that's good if you've got bad joints, but if you've not got a cast that might work for your ankle too? <3 Claire @ Jazzpad

  9. Maybe dig to the bottem of the the barrel and rediscovered clothes you forgot you even have. Also you will ocercomb the weight gain. Just don't dwell on it and make a new workout goal. Like crunches or yoga positions where you sit.

  12. You look fab! I have a black and white stripy dress that everyone refers to as my "piano dress" as apparently that's what it kind of looks like. I'm having a clothing slump at the moment too- I'm on a bit of a spending ban, so I'm bored of all of my clothes! I therefore have no useful tips- so sorry! xx

  13. I love your floral crown and boots. I know what you mean about feeling in a fashion-funk, I'm terrible at putting all my fashion ideas into practise. xx
