The Sunday Pamper 01

For some reason, I can never sleep on Sunday nights.  I like my job so it’s not ‘back to school’ syndrome, and I’m rarely up later than 8.30 at the weekends so it’s not that I’ve slept too much during the day. Whatever it is, I’m trying to ease myself into bedtime more slowly and relaxing-ly (is that a word?) by having a little Sunday night pampering session.  This is even more perfect now X Factor is back on our screens as it means I’m guaranteed to be home on a Sunday night and I can follow some trashy TV with a bit of me time. Sunday nights are definitely for ‘chilling’ – especially now the weather is turning and it’s feeling colder, it’s a great excuse to hide under a blanket with a good book or magazine (have just been reading The Simple Things’ October issue!) and then follow it up with a long soak in the bath, some candles (I currently have a Glade spiced apple and cinnamon one burning away) and some of your favourite pampering products. Here’s what’s on the list for tonight – a line-up of old favourites and new things to try.

1. Parma Violets Soap – A Pony Called Steve
2. Cherry Cola Soap – A Pony Called Steve

A Pony Called Steve is obvs the best name for a brand ever, right? They sell handmade soaps wrapped in gorgeous paper with the most amazing sounding scents you have ever heard.  I am so excited to try these two flavours, they sound divine! Look out for a review once I’ve given them a try.

3. Origins Drink Up Intensive – £22

Very much an old favourite and one that never leaves my bedside table, I love the Drink Up overnight mask for how good my skin feels in the morning, not to mention the amazing smell of it! I put this on before I go to bed a couple of times a week so it’s perfect for a Sunday pampering bedtime.

4. Dirty Works Bath Soap – Sainsbury’s – £2.99

Another old favourite – I love that I can grab this when I’m doing my weekly shop (and I’m buying it almost weekly these days as I get through it so quickly!) It smells amazing and fills the bath with bubbles.

5. Ren Vita Mineral Emollient Rescue Cream – M&S – £19*

I’ve been wanting to try some Ren products for ages and until the lovely Hannah who does PR for M&S popped this in a little package for me, I had no idea they stocked them.  M&S also have an offer online at the moment where if you buy two Ren products you get a lovely little travel kit so if you’re considering getting some bits, stock up now! I’m really excited to try this emollient cream, I think it’s going to be perfect for slathering on before morning runs when it gets colder too!

6. Ren Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Balm – M&S –  £23*

I’m also really looking forward to trying this as it’s the first product like this I’ve picked up – you warm up the balm in your hands, massage it into the skin and then add warm water to turn it into a cleansing milk, then you use the muslin to wipe off the balm.  I love the smell of anything rose-infused so I think this is going to be a lovely pre-bedtime treat.

7. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate – £36*

This hasn’t quite made it to today’s pampering session without being tried as I was too tempted to crack open the packaging and give it a whirl a few nights ago.  It feels so moisturising and I really noticed a difference in my skin in the following morning, this is going to be a recurring item on the Sunday pamper list I feel!

Have you tried any of these? Which are your pamper night essentials?
