Payday spender

I have a naughty habit.  It usually happens on the last weekday of the month and it involves me going through all of the things I've bookmarked over the prior weeks (or looking at my bookmarked wishlists) and treating myself to a few things.  Just a few little things to celebrate payday and give myself a shoe/dress/skincare/make-up shaped pat on the back for another month of hard graft.  I can't be the only person who gets a bit indulgent in those fleeting moments before all the direct-debits come out when you celebrate having a little bit of money?

I thought I'd share with you a few things that the Postman has brought to me in the last few days, mainly due to my payday splurging, but also a couple of other treats here and then from nice people.

The first was kindly sent to be my Cybercandy as I recently joined the Cybercandy Blogger Family.  I picked the Hersheys Reeses Peanut Butter Topping (£3.79) to try as I thought it would be an amazing cupcake icing topper and it turns out, it was! You can see how I used it in my Big Night In post.

I have recently developed a full on trainers addiction and I can't stop myself ogling shoes on The Drop Date for new additions to my trainers wishlist.  I picked up these Nike Starlets in the Spartoo sale and can't wait to wear them, I think they'll go great with denim shorts and turned up skinny jeans.

A few weeks ago I was over the moon to be picked to be a Witch Flawless Friend.  I adore Witch Skincare so to be added to their group of lovely bloggers is a real honour.  Rather generously they sent me out big ol' stash of their products to try - a few are already favourites but several are new to me so I can't wait to get trying and reviewing them.

I gave into the hype and invested in a pair of Topshop MOM jeans, however when they arrived I tried them on and they are way too small.  I bought the same size as all the Jamie jeans I have but for some reason they are about 3 inches too small on the waistband! (It's definitely not all the croissants and cheese!) I'll now be making a trip to our nearest Topshop tomorrow to exchange them.

Lastly is my little haul of French skincare goodies that came home in my suitcase.  I couldn't resist a few visits to their chemists whilst I was away in France! I haven't had a chance to try any yet (apart from the Bioderma Micelle Solution which is already a favourite) but if you're interested I'll give them a review on here.

The spending should really stop there but I must admit that whilst I've been writing this I've been simultaneously searching the web for Micky Flanagan tickets.  Tom and I were gutted to have missed him on a recent tour since his 'Out Out Tour' DVD is one of our absolute favourites.  For any other fans, you'll know what I mean when I say that we frequently do the 'Cockney Walk' whilst proclaiming that we are 'double busy' (this will help if you have no idea what I'm talking about!).

Are you payday spender? What have you been splurging on this week?

  2. Yep! I do exactly the same. Just little treats here and there, nothing wrong with that at all :)

I don't think the Reese's topping would make it on to any cupcakes I made as I would just be spooning the glorious stuff right into my mouth!! >.<

Bioderma is the business, I'd be interested to read your views on La Roche-Posay. xx

  4. The Reeses sprinkles look too good! I'm a Cybercandy blogger too and I love their website and offering far too much (I have to force myself NOT to go on it.) I'm loving the trainers too. I've gone a bit mad for trainers recently too..they're so comfortable yet look so good with a lot of outfits. All great choices :) xx

  5. Oh man I'd love to see Micky Flanagan. We downloaded his radio shows on podcasts when we went to America last year and it was so nice to hear his cockney accent as we were driving around. He told some story about him moving to New York when he was 19 and how he had to move back because he was out at dinner one evening and was laughing at some guy's dreadful wig and all the Americans he was with didn't understand why it was funny. Me and Nick were crying with laughter as we drove along!
Congratulations on becoming a Witch blogger and a Cyber Candy blogger! You busy little bee!

  7. Those Nike trainers are so cute, and so handy for summer time! Payday splurges are perfectly justifiable - definitely something we all like to do!

  8. Ohhhh that reminds me of when I had money *cries in a corner*
When I eventually get through the horrors of unemployment + rent (no fun I tell you) I'm definitely picking some of that Reese's topping! I fancy some new skincare too so I think I might try the Witch products, I'll be interested to see what you think of them :)

  9. The peanut butter topping looks amazing! I'd probably just eat from the tub with a spoon, no shame. I also have the same habit of going through bookmarked items and wishlists as soon as payday comes around, oh dear!
