Paul’s Boutique Talullah bag

Quite some years ago, back when ASOS was ‘As Seen On Screen’ and was organised into clothes and accessories celebrities had been seen wearing, I spotted a little gem of a bag hanging on the arm of Paris Hilton.  I majorly fell for the diamond and crown printed ‘Diamond Twister’ bag by Paul’s Boutique and made it my quest to own it.  At that time, £66 seemed like a lot to spend on a bag but I saved my pennies and took the plunge and loved that bag for some time before the zip broke and it was retired to the depths of my wardrobe.  Back then, the Paul’s Boutique brand was synonymous with ‘bling’ – brightly coloured bags, bag charms, leopard print, badges and brooches and dashes of gold.  They appealed to a devoted audience of urban-savvy late teens and for some years they dominated that corner of the market and that’s where they stayed.

Recently, however, they’ve had something of a rebrand.  Their current offering is much more fashion-forward and has a ‘luxe’ feel – the brand even have a ‘luxury’ range, and some beautiful leather bags including satchels with flashes of neon.

When the lovely Lizzie from Paul’s Boutique got in touch to tell me about their current range and offer me an item for review I wasn’t expecting to find it quite so difficult to choose.  In the end I settled on the beautiful Tallulah Shopper (£85*).  I have a serious weakness for structured bags that are roomy enough for all of the things I carry around on a daily basis and so this is just perfect for me.  I love the colour-blocking of the burgundy against the blue-grey trim.
