Review: Hush Hush

In my post about moneysaving tips I mentioned that ‘Secret Sale’ websites – e.g. websites that work with brands to host discounted products for a limited period on their site – can be a good way to save money when picking up presents.  When I was recently contacted by Hush Hush to see if I wanted to use the site and review it here I was initially slightly reticent.  Some of these websites are really good, and some of them (and I won’t name names) are badly laid out so you have to spend ages digging around to find the mass of products, and then you order from them and the products take weeks, even months to come.  So when I did sign up to Hush Hush (and one little detail I like is that you can create a login, you’re not forced to use Facebook like some others do) I was actually really pleasantly surprised.  It has a clean, almost Tumblr-esque design, with a selection of sales with varying closing dates.  All of the sales they currently have on will be delivered by Christmas so I can definitely recommend it as a good place to have a nose for Christmas prezzies.

I love the fact that rather than just the brands you always see on these types of websites (Jamie Oliver kitchenware anyone?) they are smaller, kitsch-y brands too so it’s good for discovering new things as well as getting a discount on things you already knew you wanted. Here are my favourite things currently on sale…

// parks agarwood spice diffuser – £13
// play more art print – £20
// tea for two set – £15
// tea set – £21
// the mighty whale art print – £5
// fendi silvana bag – £830 (well, a girl can dream…)

Overall I’m really impressed with Hush Hush and I’ll definitely carry on using it.  Do you use secret sale websites? Will you be snapping up any of the treats above? (If you need my address for sending me the last item just let me know…)
