I'm going to have to be a big ol' British person cliché and start off this post by commenting on the beautiful weather we've had this weekend. I have definitely managed to soak up a lot of sunshine over the last couple of days - have to make the most of it in case it goes away again! On Friday night we walked Bodhi to the pub through this little forest path that unfortunately was a lot muddier than we'd originally thought it would be. I took the three instagram snaps above on the way. It's evenings like this that feel so different than when I lived in Southampton and I do cherish being able to walk through the countryside with the dog and sit in a country pub with a glass of wine on a Friday night rather than going on a big night out.
Yesterday Tom, my friend Nicole and I went to Christchurch Food Festival, which is a short walk from us in the centre of town. We spent the whole day strolling up and down the street, trying all the different foods and drinks on offer. Between us we ate Chinese food, chicken in pitta with salad, cupcakes, pastries, currywurst, scallops and churros, drank cider, ale and sangria, and came home with more cider, breads and cheeses.

In the evening we just munched on more bread and cheese and watched the Britain's Got Talent final. The highlight of the evening was when Pudsey the dog came on the TV - Bodhi instantly jumped up from where he was napping on the rug and stuck his face right up against the TV screen. His little nose was pressed on Pudsey for the whole routine!
Today my Mum and I went to Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair in Bournemouth. We had loads of fun rifling through all the clothes and I came away with two tops and a woolly jumper which I'm sure will pop up here in outfits in due course. We also bumped into Joseph from Unlimited By JK - he was there taking photographs for the event and kindly took my photo outside in the sunshine.
When we got back from the fair, Tom, me and my parents walked to the same pub (not the muddy route this time!) for lunch, with Bodhi in tow again. We all had roast dinners but it was a bit disappointing (burnt Yorkshire puddings! Sacre Bleu!) Now, after a little blog reading session I expect it will be sofa and blanket time for catching up on last night's episodes of The Bridge. Have you been soaking up the sun this weekend?

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend! As old lady as some people make it seem food festivals are one of my favourite events ever! There's one near where I live right now and I just can't keep away from the traditional Greek food stall. There's usually a bigger one near where my parents live every summer and usually there's a cheese stall, and some natural soap going about!

ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of all things British and fair-ish (fair-ish? is that a word?). Food festival sounds amazing, as does the vintage fair. I went running in the sunshine today and it was bliss.
ReplyDeleteSounds cliche, but I honestly have just come across your blog and I really like it :). I work in communications too.

Oh gosh, what a perfect weekend! The sunshine has been so wonderful over the past couple of days, it's been so nice being able to have the windows open in the house! Bodhi looks SO cute watching Pudsey on the tv! <3 xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like a brilliant weekend! It's been so nice the last couple of days, so it's good that you got to enjoy it. Btw, Bodhi is so lush- like a big piece of cotton wool! :-)

Oh my, why didn't I know about the Christchurch Food Festival?! I'm genuinely a little upset that I missed it haha! Tom's chorizo and scallops look so nice. The weather has been so gorgeous this weekend, but I haven't managed to really enjoy it at all, for being surrounded by packing boxes ): sounds like a perfect little weekend Rosie, hope you're well! xx
ReplyDeleteAnd people say that dogs don't know what's going on on the tv! That is such a cute picture! Also the food festival sounds like a complete win, especially if it involved cider : )

yaaay Pudsey and Ashleigh won haha The chorizo and scallops look AMAZING. I've been in work all weekend and missed the lovely weather :( x
ReplyDeleteI swear you live my perfect 'grown up' life Rosie! If my life is as lovely as yours seems to be in a couple of years time after I graduate then I will be extremely happy (: Food festivals are my favourite, there's a continental market that comes to my home city once in a while and I love it because they constantly throw free samples at you (: xx
ReplyDeleteAh Bodhi is SO CUTE! Sounds like a lovely weekend. x
ReplyDeleteThe food festival sounds amazing! Just had a look at their website and it's still running, right? Might have to go and have a snoop! x x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend, the weather was just perfect for it.
ReplyDeleteBless little Bodhi, that is so cute, I bet he was pleased Pudsey won. I was, it was a deserving act to win and Ashleigh is so lovely, she seems so down to earth. I'm a bit gutted that Loveable Rogues were not in the top 3 but they will still do well out of it so i'm not too worried :)

Haha "Sacre Bleu!", how dare they. This sounds like such a fun, lazy weekend. I can't wait til all the fests start up here in Chicago. I want to walk around double-fisting hot dogs and listening to music while laying on the grass. Literally can't wait.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bodhi is adorable, he wanted to make a new friend :)
I have been to a couple of food festivals lately but there was no scallops in sight, so I think I'll definitely visit Christchurch food fest next year! Thanks so much for your comment on my blog, I feel like we would be very good shopping partners if we knew each other in real life! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh Rosie beautiful, this sounds like the absolute perfect day. WHY DIDNT YOU CALL ME.. I'D HAVE TREKKED DOWN TO HANG WITH YOUUU!x
ReplyDeleteThat vintage fair was in Norwich a couple of weeks ago. Wish I'd been able to go now. You do live in a lovely part of the country. I would love to move down south xx
ReplyDeleteIt really was a beautiful weekend weather-wise. Me and the boyfriend wandered down to our village May Fair to soak up the sun and the atmosphere and the sun. We didn't have much luck on the coconut shy, but we did come away with a jam jar full of sweeties! Can't be bad :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
R xx
This sounds like such a perfect weekend - and the vintage fair looks amazing! I'm glad you're having some lovely weather where you are, a winter chill is definitely setting in over here in New Zealand...
